My husband is in the Air Force and after being recently deployed I decided to move in with my parents in Ashburn, VA with my two and a half year old son. Up until this point we had been using the daycare on base, which we loved, but living in Ashburn was too far to...

KinderCare review in Fairfax, Virginia: *** in Management

A friend of mine works at one of the KinderCare locations in Northern Virginia. Recently, when she came down ill and brought her director a doctor's note instructing her to stay home, she was met with a situation that basically threatened her job. Her director told her she wouldn't be needed the following week anyway. My friend began asking the other KinderCare directors in the area if she could work some hours to keep her income. When her director learned that a few of the other directors really wanted her on a full-time basis, my friend was begged not to leave her current center and given additional hours in the following weeks. While this helped my friend financially, this sort of management seems very unprofessional. Why would you tell an employee you might not need them working and then beg them not to take a better job offer?

With your spelling and grammar you have no business working in kindercare and working with our children. Also childish name calling do you really approve of the childish name calling the OP is doing that is being a poor role model for children.

Really? A Friend of yours?

or is this you?

Think it is the later.......why do you think they did this? Why don't you just come out and say it.......they already know who wrote this.

This is a current complaint (Dec. 2013). As a former parent of that sad place, Sheree Berry, the center director, has lied to my face more times than I can count about injuries my child suffered there in the Pre-K class (don't tell me that's not a *** mark when I can...

My child currently attends this KinderCare in Fairfax and I have not had the same problems. I've personally always found Sheree and the teachers to be warm and personable.

And even though they juggle a lot with all of the students, everyone seems professional and friendly. I guess every experience is different.

My husband and I went to many daycares before deciding on Fairfax KinderCare for our infant. We are happy with our choice!

Kindercare ShortPump Location (Richmond,VA)DO NOT ENTER THE DOORS

..THIS IS A COMPANY THAT PUT ON FRONTS FOR PARENTS TO GET MONEY. THEY ARE NOT WHO THEY SAY THEY ARE IN THEIR HAND BOOK. THE CENTER IS DIRTY, NO HOT WATER AND NO MATERIALS TO USE FOR THE KIDS AND THE FOOD IS HORRIBLE. THE DIRECTORS DO NOTHING ALL DAY BUT TALK AND DEMAND THE STAFF TO DO EVERYTHING. I WAS DISGUSTED OF THE UNCLEAN AND DISRESPECFUL ENVIRONMENT. THE KIDS RUN THE DAYCARE. THEY HAVE MANY, MANY BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS LIKE KIDS SPITTING IN OTHER KIDS FACES AND ON THEIR BODIES, KICKING, HITTING, SCRACHING, PUSHING AND JUMPING ON KIDS AND HITTING THEM ALL OVER THEIR BODIES AND THE DIRECTORS KNOW ABOUT IT, BUT JUST DONT WANT TO TELL THE PARENTS CAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID THEY WILL TAKE THE KID OUT. ONE KID THAT IS THE LEADER OF THE PACK MOMS WORKS THERE AND THEY CARE LESS TO ADDRESS HER BECAUSE OF FEAR OF LOOSING MONEY. YOU HAVE TO SCREAM OUT TO GO TO THE BATHROOM CAUSE THERE ARE NO PHONES/INTECOMS. A WORKER THERE WILL *** ON HERSELF TO AVOID CALLING FOR A RELIEF OR JUST TIRED OF WAITING. THE COMPANY IS ALL ABOUT MONEY, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS TO THEM!!!

That's Crazy!!! Who would leave their child in a chaotic, place with no stability and no control.

When and where does the one on one or group learning time take place. That place has blinders on like some of the other KinderCare Centers.

They are all about the money. But what corporation isn't?

I would not send my child to Kindercare. They boast curriculum which is rarely done because there is so much transitioning. Labor hours have to be cut so staff are sent home. This means children need to be moved.

Even if it means putting them in a classroom that is not developmentally appropriate. While working for kinder-care I had 2 year olds put in the school age room. The toys and furniture are simply not appropriate.

They may boast of curriculum and the classes may look nice but you don't know what happens while your child is there. And while a staff member may voice concerns management doesn't always listen.

I'm shocked to be finding this out online... when did this happen???

Was this during the day or "after school"?

I know I had my share of problems in the beginning of my child's attending, but once they addressed those issues, I've been perfectly content. So I'm very shocked to read that this has occurred.

Your child is Not safe at Kindercare

I have a 3 month year old and took him to Kindercare at 9749 Main Street, Fairfax, VA- first the staff is not able to communicate about my child needs. I witnessed a small infant had fell on his side with his head on the hard concrete screaming. However my son was put in a crib where he was screaming. He had a blanket on him in a crib. While there were 3 workers sitting down while the children were crying. Also my child got sick for the first time in his life because of him being in this place.

Ok the 3 month old falling on concrete is bad, I give you that. Do something, be proactive about it.

I would have made sure the director knows what I saw, she/he would have to follow protocol and notify the child's parents. About your child getting sick for the first time ever... not a big deal!

it will happen sooner or later. How else will your child build up their immune system?

A 3 month old got sick, call the baby police! Seriously, kids get sick all the time. If you think its a horrible place, don't take your child to them and report them to the state

Hello-- I live in the Princeton/South Brunswick area. Would you recommend a daycare instead of Kindercare?

I've looked into a few (Harmony, Goddard, etc) but can't seem to find a place that is good/right for my child. thanks!!!
