They are baby sitter NOT teachers

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have taken my son to kindercare for the last year. He started out great and then eventually he was moved 3 times into different rooms with different teachers. He has had a rough time with behavior lately and they are so quick to call and tell me to pick him up. The administrator advised she would be willing to do a behavior plan to try and figure out what the issue was and then make adjustments to the class to help my son, however this never happened. The administrator advised the best idea would be to take my son to new location. At the new location they advised that they want to disenroll after the first week of being there he only had one incident where he misbehaved and they told me he will be disenrolled. The whole point of my taking my son to the other kindercare location was for a clean start but that didn't happened. They never offered a behavior plan or any assistance. They are always over ratio with the kids and don't have time to deal with any child that any type of issue.

Abusive to their staff - Horrible horrible place to work - NY Location

They are abusive to their staff. They should be closed down as they lie and cheat and pretend to the parents that they really care.

They are sales people and will tell you anything to close the deal. The teachers are overworked and underpaid. They treat the teacher so bad and in turn the teacher are angry and upset most of the time. There is a lot of anger and low self confidence.

I am very surprised with all the law suits throughout the United States that they are still operating. Parents stay away from Kindercare....because they really don't care about your children

RUN!!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
The areas for babies & toddlers seemed ok & staff was loving. However, the after school/summer camp was absolutely horrible. Emotionally abusive, uncaring & immature staff, esp. Ms. Ashley. From day 1 they were greeted with "I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE NEW!!" She should go work at a prison the way she talks to the kids. They don't follow the guidelines that are on their own website as far as treatment of the kids; it is an emotionally abusive environment. I tried over & over to escalate this, but no amount of "coaching" will change a rotten, hateful attitude. I had to pull my kids, they dreaded going & were scared. Their playground is a joke with no shade or anything to do for big kids. Since 1 kid would throw the ball outside the gate, they'd withhold balls from everyone. Never seen kids at a playground just sitting in the corner, bored. My kids have been in daycares their whole lives & this was the absolute worst! I wish I had found reviews before enrolling them...RUN!!!

Also, Nancy admitted to lying about The Ms Ashley. Ms Ashley suspected that Nancy was abusing her children and reported it to CPS, the findings were true and her children were taken from her.

Nancy was beating her children. They came to the center with bruises.

Don't work here

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
This place is a joke of a job Marlene could careless about the children she cares all about numbers. She rude abd disrespectful to staff calling them monkies (which is a rasist comment) on her facebook. The teachers are the ones who do the hard work while she sits in the office talking about her staff like she is better.

20 year employee

I loved my job and my company until changes in upper management created an environment of bullying and threats. My center was accredited, earned the highest ratings available in my state, and was very profitable--earning approx. one million dollars yearly. But that wasn't enough. It was never enough. I worked roughly 14 hours per day and it took a toll on my health. But I loved my children, families, and staff, and I knew we offered the best care in our community. Then I got a new field supervisor. Change can be hard, but in this case was necessary. However, I will not work for someone who is unethical and expects me to be the same way. I was threatened with my job every day, which eventually affected my ability to manage my center properly. This happened to other directors in our area, and so calls were made to upper management and the ethics department. That director lost her job after those calls, which made the rest of us try to stay low and under the radar in fear for our own jobs. KinderCare is a for-profit corporation, but it used to have a heart. Now they're in a mad scramble to increase profits to save the jobs of those at the top. And they use the yearly gallup surveys they do for staff and families to say how much everyone loves working and attending there. But they have to know that centers are so pressured to do well--to hit a certain "mark" with gallup--that at some centers management take the surveys themselves to avoid losing their jobs due to a low score. That makes it hard to match those scores if you do it honestly. Everyone has their own line in the sand, and I ultimately had to leave a place I truly loved. I poured my heart and soul into my center, and the hardest thing I've ever done is to walk away. However, I am so happy and so appreciated now at my new job, and so glad I moved on. After seeing this, now my previous co-workers (directors) want to move on as well. I just want KC to look--truly look--at what's happening in the field before every single one of their experienced, knowledgable professionals are gone.

Reality

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have to say that reading so many different angry reviews, but I am wondering if they are expecting some Mary Poppins experience. Reality, kids get dirty which means a not so clean building, teachers have many kids so they can start to get rundown and frazzled, kids get hurt (everyone gets hurt), kids get sick.

It is life. If you are at a pristine school then maybe you should look a little closer at what is really happening in there. Are they really engaged with the kids, are your kids really learning anything? Of course we all want a clean and perfect school, but look at some of the elementary schools that have been around for a while.

They look dirty and run down too. Does that mean they are ***? I have yet to have a bad experience with any of my 3 kids at the KinderCare in Denver. It is probably one of the oldest schools they have.

But my children come home full of stories, sometimes a dirty (so that tells me they did something), sometimes with scratches or bruises (which tells me that they were active), and full of new knowledge.

Don't judge a book by the cover. Give it a shot be for you dog it!

So..... when you pay someone to watch your child you expect them to be bruised and battered?

Or just scraped and cut?

With some infections here and there? No big deal right?

Below standard

My son has been attending the KinderCare learning center located at 4141 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76017 since September2015. I am currently active duty Air Force and have been serving for over 9 years.

I relocate every 3 years due to my career in the Air Force. Before relocating to Texas, I was searching for the best possible learning center for my son and his development. I contacted KinderCare because I had previously heard good things regarding the centers and this particular kinderCare is located very close to my current place of work. My schedule is very hectic as I work full time and am also a single parent who travels quite often.

Being able to have a great and safe environment for my son is top priority, and I thought this could be the place. Upon enrolling my son, I noticed how outdated the center was and how open and chaotic the layout was. At this time I chose to look past this as I was already starting a new job and stressed from the current move I have made from Maryland. I also obtain assistance from NACCRRA due to not being located on an Air Force base where the cost is based off of my current rank in the Air Force.

I had also assumed due to KinderCare being Nationally accredited that I was making the best choice for him. I was very much wrong in this decision as I have been highly disappointed and upset with the entire experience that my son and I have had. My son was 3 at this time and he was able to adjust fairly quickly and made some friends at this location, so I decided to allow him to stay. The worst case scenario actually happened last year as I was not notified that he broke his arm playing outside and nothing was properly documented, which caused my son to require his arm to be broken again and repositioned. He was later sent a get well basket and a get well card.

They ended up replacing the lady that had failed to document the incident. I could have definitely pursued legal action on the KinderCare company for their negligence and had a solid case. I chose to at the time, due to having military insurance focus solely on my son and getting him his treatment instead of pursuing a lawsuit. I was not offered a month of free KinderCare or any extra compensation for my son and his pain and suffering as I believe was owed to him.

This KinderCare has an extremely high turn-over rate and someone new is constantly trying to pick up where someone else left off. The Company itself needs to set a standard and adhere to this as well as get a proper training program in place for new hires. There seems to be no set standard as there are very limited resources at this center. My son's last day will be the 29th of July 2017 as he will be attending a new aftercare program at learning center that is extremely clean with set standards and a better rate for 5 year olds.

The Kinder Care company charges just as much for 3 year old as they do 5 year olds and are wondering why they are closing local KinderCares? Your competition is beating you out hands down and it is because the company does not want to invest in these centers. The CEO of Kinder Care needs to step up or maybe step down as this company is below having a Nationally accredited center. I will not be referring any of my friends or family to KinderCare.

I really hope that by writing this review encourages anyone who is looking into this learning center to think twice. The company is out to over charge you as well as not train their employees properly.

Horrible company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I worked for this company for many years. I loved the families and children and most of the staff was top notch.

This issue is upper management(District manager and higher). They care about one thing only and that is MONEY. Cuts in labor everyday caused staff to be on edge and seek out other employment. They charge extra for things that should be in the curriculum anyway.

There is a extra fee for summer and then again in the fall on top of the crazy charges per week($299/week for infants, etc). You will be pushed to your limit and then cast aside when they have used you up. And parents, when you tour, the center director has been coached to tell you anything you want to hear to enroll. They are actually taught to "close the deal" and will be in serious trouble if they don't.

The centers that really try to follow the rules(not move kids around, meet ratios, etc) are pushed to do it like everyone else does to meet the labor piece and finances. If you refuse because you are trying to do what is right for the children and families, you will be looking for another job.

Sounds just like the one that I was the director of! I had the exact same experience. It’s so sad that people are low to and manipulated to think this is a quality childcare center when it probably one of the worst I have experienced.

Age discrimnation

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had worked as a director of child care for 30 years and when I turned 60 the DM demoted me to assistant director for no reason. Her comment was" people our age need to reduce our stress level" I was doing good, had not complained about my stress level at all. Then she moved me to another location. Then she got fired and our new DM would not even look at my applications when I applied for new openings as a director or another location. The center I was at was not being run very well, I could have done a much better job. I finally had all I could stand and gave a one month notice and left the company. I am now retired and money is really lam but I will survive. I could have worked another 5 years a least but I could not sit by while this director was not running the center the way it should be run.

Neglect, imbaressment, lack of care

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I have 5 children and they are enrolled in kinder care in 861 Eastwind dr Westerville oh 43081. I want to file a complaint against this daycare because in several incidents they have called me out of work and said my daughters had emergency and I had to pick them up.

One incident that happen was that the temperature was over 90 on a hot day after they had just woke up said I had to take them to doctor for fever and I took them and brought a doctor note nothing was wrong with child and other times. Another was that my daughter had pooped black and not feeling well and was feverish and I had to get off work nothing was wrong with child took to doctor was fine and *** was she had ate blue berry’s that caused her *** different color. And this las time they called 05/24 that my girls had lice and both were itching really bad I had to pick up. I asked where are they how many did u find and no one could respond to me a straight answer.

They just showed me some dry skin no lice I assure them they did not have any. And so it happens they don’t . I will bring doctors note for that too. But the center went to far when they contacted an emergency contact and they left a message saying my girls had lice.

And offended me and my family. I have also felt rejection from the day care every time sending my girl away. And these few days I have been taking them in early and the staff is not watching my 2 and 3 year old they leave them alone in the room till their teachers arrive later on. I drop them off at 6:30 am and a staff member does not come till later at 7:00-7:30 am that is a long time for an infant toddler alone in the room with no care.

I am looking to file a complaint and a attorney for these actions. I hope you respond to this matter .

I'm not Trying to downplay your complaints by no means, but let's be clear here. If they are constantly sending your child home with a fever it's usually because A) your child is s hellion and the teacher needs a break from your kid, or B) your child is fussing more than usual and maybe needs his/her mom.

I also highly doubt your child is being left alone. I have worked at some horrible hole in the wall centers and even there children were tend to more than most parents realize.

My concern is that most parents drop their children off at dawn with the understanding that one teacher is going to be with multiple children at one time. Then they pick the children up after working, getting nails done, grocery shopping etc.

then want to complain about a missing sock, a scratch, and so on. Never mind that their child has sat in day care for 10 to 12 hrs, but the sock will be what you *** about. Your child has had to endure constant noise, fighting for attention, or just fighting to get something that he/she needs all day. While you (not necessarily you) got an hour break at work to relax.

The staff chose their job, you chose yours, your child didn't get to choose. If you ever look at the staff turn around you would be surprised to see that most teachers don't last a month. The work is hard, parents are never happy, and some children are little pains. Those that stay stay because they actually enjoy it.

The next time your child falls and gets a boo boo magnify that times 20, then allow others to scrutinize your parenting skills for not watching your child closely enough. The fact of the matter is most parents want teachers who make 8.00 an hour to be better parents than they are.

The odds of negative complaints... over 1600 centers caring for over 200,000 children. I see 362 ish "complaints" here... those odds are pretty good. If you live in this world and see how many people just complain to complain or say bad things about a business because they owe that business money it makes this number quite small. KinderCare is great, occasionally they hire teachers who are not great, when they realize they are not a good fit they "move them on". It's too bad some children won't get a great KinderCare experience because a parent will believe this slander. My girls love KinderCare and do do I!

Yes, they are "wonderful" about handling concerns....by firing staff or just plain old run them off. Again, you are an upper management person who is full of *** and is the reason for the many, many complaints both on here and hiring sites.

You all make the job impossible to do and then push for more money.

That is all you care about, period. Go build a bear....that is a job you actually might know something about.

You are an upper management person and full of ***....People like you are the reason this company is tanking badly and has such high turnover.

Bully behavior from the assistant director and the director.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My child bit another child . Agreed-wrong behavior.

It's happened once in 15 months of him attending day care. Get a call from them to come pick him up. Can't get to the faculty on time coz I am a dentist and was treating one of the pts under sedation.

They say since so didn't come and get my son, it's " personal and an insult to them" and conviniently give him the next day off. This is going to be reported to the district manager and even if I have to spend thousands of $$$$$, I will since the assistant director who is watching my children is making this a personal issue.

Horrible

This place has gotten a lot better comparatively to some of these reviews, but as a parent, I cannot abide my child staying here. She only attended for two weeks, and it's a complete *** show.

They constantly push kids up and down in the age groups; they tried to switch my daughter to the 3s group when she was barely turning 2, and she came home crying every day because she doesn't get along with any of the kids in that class. The 2s classroom was a disaster every time I came to pick her up earlier than closing time, and looked like something out of Lord of the Flies. Trash everywhere, children screaming and sitting in messy diapers, toys on the floor covered in god knows what...

and my daughter had a daily sheet maybe 2 days out of 5 every week. I'm extremely unhappy.
