I worked at KinderCare for just under 3 years. My district manager "got rid" of 13 directors in a year and a half. I can tell you, the licensing requirements for DCFS are not of importance for this company. If you are knowledgable about minimum requirements, they do what they can to pin you with some offense you didnt commit. Either you shut up and deal with it, or you join the company in committing severe offenses against the state to maintain a unreasonable budget. I was at the hospital during my husbands surgery, and when I returned in a day, I caught and printed an email from my district manager to my assistant director, requiring her to combine classrooms and maintaining out of the minimum ratio to make the budget. When I confronted her on this, this was the beginning of me going down the road of losing my job. I will not stand for this to happen, because if the state finds out, and something serious happens, I could be charged by the state personally for neglecting and abusing a child. I chose my career, not my job.

When the state came in for licensing, I was encouraged not to say much and lie. Also a huge red flag. I hired a great group of individuals that were amazing teachers. Our enrollment flourished because of it. After I was discharged, all my teachers were either fired or forced to leave. They also would not stand to be told to lie to the state. My district manager tried so hard to taint my reputation, however everyone knew me so well, all of the families knew she was a liar and left. THe enrollment is less than 30% capacity 10 months later. :) Its sad that this is where the center is, however they expect to make as much money as possible screwing each family. They charge families for inhouse fieldtrips, which should be a part of the everyday curriculum, and do not follow through with them. They create tutoring programs for children by taking it out of the required curriculum through the state licensing, and charge you an arm and a leg for it. And when the tutoring program isnt done, they tell the employees to lie about it and charge the families more money anyway.

They preach they have a program for excellent training for teachers, yet it is never followed through. IT is said it is not in the budget, and them employees need to do training on their own time. Really? the assistants get paid minimum wage and the teachers not much more either. Besides it is against the law.

And the best was when, to cut the payroll (which was budgeted at 25%) to have teachers take a lunch break 2 hours into their 9 hour shift. So the teachers would need to work 6 hours without a break. Good luck telling your district manager that. They dont care. Even though it is against the law.

They want you to move the children around to other classrooms all day every day. The children will not be ready for school by doing this. They never get the requried programming needed. Be aware.

Long term employees are not of the norm. And if they are, you might want to really question their morals and values, because it is not in the best interest of your child. Or anywhere near what is fairly good for your child. The sad thing is that this is what is happening at every KinderCare/ Knowledge Learning Corporation location or subname center coast to coast. It only amazes me how much they change their name. Maybe because of all of the lawsuits, crazy changes they are required to make constantly because of how much they have gotten in trouble with the law. Most all recruiters will tell you the same thing about the company as well. Just be careful, this is not the place for any child or employee. You will be sorry if you put your child in a KinderCare or subname of this company.

By the way, every employee that worked for me that was wrongfully terminated, as well as my self, were granted immediate unemployment due to the questionable judgement of the company and the fact that we were all able to prove that they lied about our terminations.

Completely agree! There a was a time one of my co workers was having a rough day and was going back and forth to the bathroom to throw up and our supervisor just told her to wait it out and see if she got better at least until we dropped in the number of kids. Unbelievable.

That is horrible. I am now truly seeing that this is not a good company to work for.

I have been on countless interviews and some have been KinderCare Learning Centers. Most of them seem run the same way.

It is hard trying to find a good quality program. Most of them seem very unprofessional.

This story is horrible. I have a very similar situation that I am currently in with Kindercare. How they push people out for trying to follow the rules.

I've worked at KinderCare for 2 and a half years and I was also a parent. My daughter is 9 years old now.

She would have homework that's never done. They say they're very strict on homework and made sure that the kids do it but they aren't.

Oh and also I broke my ankle about 1 month ago. They gave me workers comp and i went to see a doctor.

The doctor told me I'm not aloud to do any Childcare work or any weight bearing work at all until he says that i could. I could only do front desk and answering phone calls. After 2 weeks I had to go back and work in the before and street school classroom which was ok at 1st but keep in mind that my doctor said no Childcare work. After a month they sent me to the 2's room are you kidding me.

From then on they made me change diapers and do some more weight bearing stuff and this is all full time not part time. I work from 8am-6pm but lately I've only been getting an hour break and leaving at 6:30pm. Talk about crucial labor more like slave labor.

How can you treat people like that. I reported the issue to corporate hoping to hear back from them soon.

I was an employee today was my last day. The director & assistant plus other managers would sit in the office all day.

The staff is very very rude & screams & yells even at the infants. The infants can't help it if they are crying cause their mom or dad just left.

Supposed to go to management with a complaint but they wouldn't fix the problem. I was even discriminated against cause of my speech impediment.

I worked a kindercare for 2 weeks. This was the worst decision of my life.

First off training was terrible, they would just throw me in a random classroom and call it training. Even the teachers of the classroom would say they weren't sure what they were suppose to show me or do with me so I just tried to make the best of it and train myself. Another thing, the whole place was filthy, children would be chewing on toys that were never cleaned and the classroom walls and floors just looked gross. It's amazing they weren't shut down especially sense in the short time I was there 2 kids got out of a playground gate that wasn't properly shut and were in the parking lot (they didn't fix the gate even after that) the teachers were rude not only to eachother but to the children.

At the end of the day children were moved to my room to meet ratio and teachers would write on their sheets that we have to record potty training, meals, what they learned, etc that all the kids had been changed yet when I would check most of the kids had dirty diapers that obviously hadn't been changed in a while like they had written down which explains why so many kids I would change always had rashes on their bums. Basically the whole place was ***.

The director and other front office people never did *** and the kids weren't given the care and learning experience they needed or deserved. It's all about money at this place.

so disturbing..My 5 year old grandson needed $3 for school for a Christmas party. We put the money in a sealed envelope; he was dropped off at daycare early that morning to be dropped off at his elementary school.

Someone stole the envelope from his backpack. The $3 never made it to school! In addition to being bullied and picked on, we are hoping to find another daycare with teachers that are more than just babysitters. If possible, avoid Kinder care on Clay road...the kids are not supervised properly.

The student/kid ratio does not meet licensing standards..This is a horrible daycare!! The teachers have an attitude and are rude...However, I can counter attack their attitude when it comes to my grandson..

Horrible place to work at and to take your children!!! I was let go after I witness one of the teachers got tired of hearing a two hear old cry that she put him in the next room ALONE & SHUT THE DOOR!!!!!

Because everyone their is desperate to keep their job than to protect the children!! My child's teacher spent her 8 hour shift EVERY single day texting/facebooking/instagraming ect... These young teachers are ALWAYSYELLING!!!! That is all you hear!!!!!

These teachers even spell out bad words to each other infront of the children!!!! The Director is the ond to blame because she ALLOWS all these things to happen & I was let go because I speak up about the inapproperate teachers!!!!! All she cares about is money, filling up every seat & talks about herself!!!!! Do Not Believe the Hype in a schools name!!!!

When the District Manager comes by she sends her side kicks to warn the teachers & make sure they follow the rules when he is there. When you walk in Do Not Believe the small that greats you because it is so FAKE!!! Don't believe the lullabysyou her, the abc's, the laughter because as soon as they see a potential family that is when the FAKENESS is seen!

Please becareful!!!! Don't be a fooled parent like I was!!!!

KinderCare in Oak Forest, IL Is the treatment of staff the same DCFS where are you? I'm not a employee but a parent red flags should be documented with everyone having a phone and cameras record what you see you could save a family and a innocent child

they just want to cut costs either using e-timing or directors altering your time sheets without your knowledge.. they don't follow state laws, waste so much money on *** *** ,but things we need ,kids need don't want to shell out a dime.

no raises for employees , how come management level have bonuses. treat everyone equal, what *** me off is the food cut on children, in the name of healthy food give 2yr old kids carrots and brocolli, then don't charge their parents two hundred dollars a week.

THIS COMPANY SHOULD AND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. IT IS A FRAUD AND THEY WILL LIE TO THE FAMILIES JUST TO MAKE THEM SELVES LOOK GOOD.

EMPLOYEES ARE TREATED TERRIBLE AND THE DM (DISTRICT MANAGERS) ARE JUST FLUNKIES FOR THE COMPANY. THEY REALLY DON'T DO SQUAT! SEND OUT EMAILS ALL DAY AND CONFERENCE WITH EACH OTHER OVER THE PHONE INSTEAD OF BEING OUT IN THE FIELD AT THERE CENTERS THEY ARE ASSIGNED TO. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND NO NEW PARENT TO PUT THEIR CHILD IN KINDERCARE, KNOWLEDGE BEGINNINGS, CCLC ETC.

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE MONEY NOT THE EDUCATION . :( :(

Kindercare is a terrible neighbor, since they allow their children to scream uncontrolled for hours. The "teachers" show no regard for others and lack civility.

They are very poor influence on the children and encourage them to disregard the needs of others. The center is located close to a gun range and the constant gun shots heard by the children will likely cause some damage to them going forward.

There are many articles on how excessive and very loud noise has detrimental affects on how children learn and cope. This Kindercare in Penfield, NY is bad for the neighborhood and bad for the children.

Yep I agree. And when DCFS come to inspect your room is set up to DCFS standards.

Kindercare walk thru and well got to change the room AGAIN. NACCP comes and oh now this is how we set up the room for them. Really People can we not work together here? Oh wait the district manager loves to change things around she has a degree in RETAIL!

and so does many other corporate employees! HA isn't that funny how the CEO says we are 32nd in education around the world? Because people like them have degrees in RETAIL?

I have worked at a kindercare and never again! The director treated everyone like *** and favors just one teacher and we had to make that teacher happy as well.

That teacher was always in office not in her room people were doing her job! Even parents asked why she was always in the office. Sorry not making another teacher happy when she doesn't sign my paychecks. Director would gossip about other workers to this teacher then director turns around and says no gossip zone!!

Then why are you doing it!! Told another worker that she can't talk to her boss with out her permission. Wth we don't need your permission then do your job right as a director. Treated that worker like *** for a week.

The director also talked bad about the families. Sorry without the families you would not have a job. List goes on the director also left a teacher out of ratio for an hour infant room! The director never say when she's wrong your always wrong.

I could write a book on kindercare and this director. Teachers quit and families leaves because of the director.

The director complains on how they hate their job!! It's awful there!!!

This has to be the eagle rock Kindercare in Brentwood ,Ca The director is a compulsive liar and I have yet to witness education there just "babysitting"All the teachers Are unhappy, except her favorites who falsify timecards and get away with it. The director Carrie Murphy is WORTHLESS !!!!!

For an FYI, I did go throught the chain of command. SInce you are not familiar with the norm, talk to any recruiter, they will tell you the same.

A regional manager backed up a Center Director and was discharged. She was an amazing manager and was compassionate about education of chilren. As long as you dont say anything, and follow along with the breaking of the state rules and federal laws, or being told to not mention certain things, you will be ok. I dont believe anyone should have to make a choice to work for a company or follow state and federal mandated laws.

I have the written facts.

And the company is being sued again, for the thousandth time. You might want to spread your wings and open your eyes a little before you talk buddy!
