Oh gosh, where do I begin? This is going to be long & what I say below is 100% true. If you are a potential parent/employee that wants to bring your kid/work here, I would HIGHLY recommend reading this!

I worked there for almost 5 years (with no raise, btw!). I have several stories/complaints about this company. After four directors in 5 years, they finally got it right! The director now was the best of them all! Very nice, works around schedules & lets you go on vacation with no questions asked.

The employees their suck *** The just hire "anyone" & claim that they hire is good but not really. It takes forever for management to hire one employee. Teachers were always on their phones texting. It was so annoying b/c they didn't care/watch over their kids. The teachers would always call out sick & make them come in, which got the kids & the employees sick! Their sick policy was BS b/c they always came in with a fever, diarrhea, throwing up, cold/flu, pink eye pretty much every sickness you can think of. The kids never go home & management claims they call the parents to pick them up but they never do. The parents would never care if they brought their kids in sick! Some of the younger kids are nasty b/c they were always sick & never washed their hands.

They accepted DES & scholarships but took them away without even consulting the parents. Parents would get really mad about that & would take their child out. Some of the parents/kids were "white trash". Didn't care about their kids & dumped them there for ten plus hours a day. They enrolled too many kids, which lead the teachers to be always over ratio. Some of the kids didn't get to be moved from room to room on their b-day b/c there weren't enough teachers. They would have to wait for months & would travel room to room to keep teachers at a one-teacher ratio. All the teachers would come & go. They were replaced all the time.

The ratio for each room is as followed: Infants (1 teacher: 5 kids) Toddlers (1:6) Two's (1:8) Threes (1:13) Fours (1:15) School-age (1:20). Those ratios were messed up & too many kids to control for one teacher.

The toys were disgusting! The toys have been there for ten plus years & once in a blue moon (meaning first things first a company that supports early childhood that gives money to day cares) First things first provided very good, quality toys. But before, management would go & purchase dollar store toys, which were cheap looking. The art supplies were limited & did the same things year after year, no creativity. The teachers would ask for art supplies/materials two weeks ahead of time & they still wouldn't get it for them. Teachers would steal other people's school supplies & never return it to the teacher where they got it. They would lie about it too. Teachers would also get things stolen like money, and food.

They would throw floaters from room to room & they didn't know what they were doing. They would have to go into rooms they didn't want to go in, but, of course, they didn't care who it was, they just wanted a body in a room. Teachers never left on time, always worked overtime. They would have these event things at night for the parents that were lame! The food was the schools food, not bought specially for the event. They would prepare the event like the day of. You would have to work all day & attend these events when you just wanted to go home! Everyone was in a bad mood b/c they had to stay. Overall, it was a waste of time!

During the summer they had "water days" for each class. You would have to put on 20+ kids swimsuits on/off plus suntan lotion on. It was a joke! The school age kids were out of control. They would hit, cry; basically they would get you in trouble with management. None of the teachers could control them b/c their ages ranged from 5-12! They were just annoying *** kids. That room & the one's rooms were the most inconsistent rooms at that place b/c no one wanted to be with those kids!

If you are considering working at Kindercare, here are some of the lovely things you will have to do everyday:

1. Mop (at nap & when you leave) and vacuum

2. Clean the bathrooms, which were sick!

3. Take out the trash/diaper trash- which reeked of diarrhea and BM's

4. Clean counter tops/tables/toys

5. Laundry (clean the sheets/blankets)

Basically, you were hired to be a janitor b/c they were so cheap! The whole place was dirty even if you cleaned. The mop is passed from room to room with the same dirty water & only some teachers wanted it to be clean, me included!

There was so much drama too, which doesn't even make sense. You are there for the kids, "so they say". Employees would butt into your business if you weren't there one day or something happened to you. They would twist things so it made them look better & lie about it. The teachers never believed where you were when you called out. It's such a big deal, it's so pathetic. Every single room gets screwed! Why do they care where you were, it's none of your business! It's like, wow; they had no lives but kindercare!

Employees who worked there didn't have a college degree in early childhood or any degree on that matter! They were dumba**es! They would never spell things/grammar correctly & it never made sense when they had to write something about the art crafts. Some of the teachers would speak unintelligently too, which was really annoying. None of the parents would even care to look at the art work or daily sheets they did throughout the day. The teachers would make up lies on the dailies/diaper log to not get in trouble & wanted to look good & not get fired, when clearly they didn't do those things throughout the day. Also, the teachers would talk trash about the kids and parents when they weren't around, its called fake! When the parents were there, they would switch on their nice, fake side of themselves, when they're not even nice.

Two employees left two kids behind outside & a couple of the teachers "claimed" they told the director but nothing happened b/c they favor some employees, which is BS! BTW, they didn't get fired! Which is BS! The rule is, if a child is left unattended, you are automatically fired. The teachers don't teach the kids. They let them run around & play. Their were only two teachers who actually taught the kids the curriculum, how sad is that? Also, the teachers would go out with the management drinking/partying on the weekends. Would you want a teacher doing that & coming back & teaching your kid? I didn't think so.

Management annoys the *** out of you. They call you to come in earlier w/o any notice saying, "Can you come in right now?" Wanting you to come in at their beckon call! They think that working for them is your life! Teachers would bring in things they bought for their room & wouldn't get paid back for it or even a simple thank you. That don't give a rats *** They are unfair & the company overall doesn't care about employees/kids/parents BUT about money! The directors were never there. They would go on vacation once or twice a month for like a week! The other directors didn't know what to do when the main director was on vacation. What dumba**es! Like, you don't know how to run a business, wow that is sad! I could've, since I worked there for almost 5 *** years! When management does a tour, they lie about everything! They say that the ratio is low, which it's not.

The food is not nutritional but canned/frozen/burned. They have crackers every single day for afternoon snack. The older kids would complain that they were having the same food over again & said, "I don't want that food again." The food there was nasty, lets just say.

Overall (told you it was long), I will never bring my kids to a day care or work at another day care b/c they are all the same. Don't work there or bring your kids there! Trust me! Nothing every changes!

I work for KinderCare too and agree with almost everything you said. Lol how sad is that, that for a minute I thought you were talking about my exact location.

I'm now looking for a different employer to work for because I as a teacher care about the children and cannot be the best I can be working for such a corrupt company as KinderCare. Children are nothin but dollar signs to them and they don't give a rats *** about the teachers.

The only thing that I have found in my week working with this company is the lack of cleanliness. I am not sure if other centers pride themselves on making cleanliness priority but mine does not.

I don't think the ratios are ok either, 2 teachers even 3 in some rooms need to be put in place. Taking care of 6 infants while doing lessons, and paper work, and trying to clean is just nuts. I'm already sick as every child there is sick as well as most of the teachers but no one can do anything because there aren't enough people working to call off.

Do I enjoy it? Yes so far, but are there changes necessary, yes!

I live by the old saying "Don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you see." However, those of you who have worked for the company I am sure can attest and approve what the original writer is saying. I can't speak for other states but the one I am in.

I can't believe and have lived through ALL and much more. The problem is not the center the problem is corporate. They stand by the Director through thick and thin NO MATTTER the situation. It would take a fatal incident and police on the scene for corporate to step in and take action.

Take NOTICE to what she is saying. Fired or not there is some truth to what she is saying.

No one this unhappy works any where for 5 years. Especially without a raise!

It sounds like this person got comfortable and was not doing the job she was hired to do and now wants to down grade the center. She got hostile when she was reprimanded and made this unflattering post. Children are people too and deserve to be respected. It is mutual.

They should NOT be referred to as "nasty" nor "white trash". As a caregiver, it is your job to clean the child.

As for the cleaning duties, I would not want to wait for a janitor to come in at the end of the day to clean. Cleaning should be constant to help eliminate germs, that includes cleaning the bathrooms and mopping the floors.

This person needs a reality check.

Not every Kindercare center is bad. I use one in west st paul mn and have had no problems. My son started attending because his other daycare refused to take him with a cast on after he broke his leg. He was two at the time ane the daycare said that he would be too hard to handle. My son, who does not like new people opened up right away at kindercare. I called to ask if they had availability and the director had us in two days later. The staff is so great with the kids! you can tell how much they love what they are doing. The director is amazing as well. She makes it a point to work with the kids and give her staff breaks. Most of the people who have worked in this center have been there for a long time, some as long as fifteen years and longer!

extra classes are a bit pricey, but when I see the results of my $100 per month for phonics it becomes priceless.

The thing I like the most is how they encourage parents to po in and check on the kids. They dont mind if a parent stays for a while when dropping off or picking up a kid. And all of the staff have made the effort to get to know both me and my son.

I do understand that not every center is perfect and some may be as bad as people say they are, but each one needs to be looked at individually in order to determine what it is like.

Just like the woman above lied about her center, there are other parents who can be doing the same thing out of anger- or it could really be a bad center, you never know until you check into it. How many of us women would really refuse to wear heels becayse one or two people said something bad about them. Don't we usually try them on our own and if one pair hurts we try a different pair? That's why its called trial and error an why we interveiw the daycare before our children attend. We need to see for ourselves.

Any person who refers to children as "white trash" has no credit whatsoever.

I worked with this person and they were fired for child abuse. It was them that left the children outside alone not the two people she is accusing. She is only accusing them to get them in trouble because they are the ones that reported her.

When you look after children it is your responsibility to clean the washrooms so the children don't get sick from the germs. Sounds to me like you are a big seven year old that just wanted to work there to play with the children and toys.

OK who believes this, raise your hand. Yeah, me either. Made up story from someone who could not get a merit raise for 5 YEARS.

I believe all of it after working there for a week. If this were under cover boss this place would close.
